Volcanic Hot Springs of Ikenaga

The High Temple at Ikenaga serves as a center for healing, be it mental, physical or spiritual. Numerous mineral springs borne of the nearby active volcano bequeath unto the bather a sense of balance, cleansing and clarity. Attending monks strew fresh herbs into the pools according to the aliment of the visitor, further augmenting the efficacy. The pools are temperature-controlled through a certain magic known as stonesilking, in which the hot or cold underground water channels supplying the pools are expanded, constricted or redirected until optimal temperature is reached. It is said that even semi-corporeal or noncorporeal beings visit the springs due to a confluence of interwoven magnetic energy radiating from deep within the earth, as well as a high concentration and variety of cleansing crystals growing throughout the temple grounds. It is said they bathe in the energies as one would bathe in the pools.

It is said that three powerful Aeons themselves - Vorinathion, Suathini and Eritarthika - taught the first generation of Ikenagan healers and shaped the temple and pools through a collaborative effort. As a result, the skill of the Order of Ikenaga remains par none. Even as they send all across Korinan for their shipments of rare herbs and healing substances, they too will travel to the remotest of areas to learn new techniques or even to the great human cities to publish their latest findings on letter-press en masse such that they might be distributed to members of other Orders. The majority of the Order is non-human and even though the Peoples of Korinan generally avoid the human cities, a member of the Order of Ikenaga is a rare but welcome sight in nearby Aritoch, and a few have even been spotted as far away as the coastal village of Nyrea, where sea sprites and humans coexist peacefully.

The Temple itself bears no political affiliation with the peoples or kingdoms of Korinan, remaining isolated from discord and dissent so they may do what they do best - help all creatures seek wellness and balance. Yet, recently, some monks have been plagued with disturbing dreams, and the volcano's usually steady lava flow has started to become irregular. One elder has taken ill and rambles day and night about a creature at the center of the mountain, but none are sure, for the elder is one of the last known Ithiiri, his speech half-distinguishable as is often intermixed with his native tongue.
