Throughout the years fractal art has seen great progressive strides, and because the fractal community has always had such a positive attitude of mentorship and collaboration, a lot of that progress has been documented in the form of step-by-step tutorials! Below is a collection of my favorites.
I realized as I was putting this together that it served as a sort of map for all the talented folks who have graced me with their wisdom and knowledge over the 16 years I've been on DeviantArt. So I'm adding those people below - hardly a complete list, but should mention most people. If you have a tutorial you would like added to this collection, or know of a resource or even a person that has shaped your work or contributed to the community over the years, feel free to Comment below!
A special thanks to all that have contributed to , especially the Fractal Art section!

Greets all,
It's been awhile but for those still following my work, you have my utmost gratitude! This journal is to inform you that I have undergone a bit of a name/branding change, from "katdesignstudio" to "technochroma". This is intended to better reflect my current artistic style and expression, because I'm less of a freelancer now and more of a dedicated fractal artist. I still love design and will probably do more personal deign projects like my recent card for FractalSauce (https://www.deviantart.com/fractalsauce):
but other than that, again I'm mostly dedicated to the chaos and beauty of fractal art. Thanks for your patience during this change and have a rewarding and peacef
Devious Journal Entry
Welcome to Fractal Feature, Issue 01!
It doesn't matter what program you use, or if you're into IFS, escape time/orbit or ray tracing - what matters is that the fractal community has incredible artistic vision, technical execution, and quality of both, as well as a willingness to consistently push boundaries and build off each other's experiences. We are constantly evolving and creating, and I would be remiss by not highlighting some of the latest achievements in fractal art here on DeviantArt.
This week's feature will highlight the skill and ingenuity of fractal artists that have produced abstract, organic, space-like, or even painterly w
Guidelines/Template for In-Depth Critique
In working with fellow fractal artists on a potential project to bring more quality comments, in-depth feedback and critiques to the fractal community, we're examining the world of art critique! In our travels we are finding various levels of dedication, education and insight. Through collaboration we came up with a pretty comprehensive template that can be used just about anywhere in the art world and still be pretty well understood. So here it is, and I hope it benefits the art community as a whole!
There are so many things that a critique can focus on, but there are some important things to consider for artwork in general. There's an uns
Gratitude
So, a short post, because I haven't posted in ages, and I want to get back in the habit of journaling. I just want to thank all the awesome people in my life for being, well, awesome. I am honored to have such creative, geeky, insightful friends and supportive family.
All The Best,
Kat
