I had a dream the other night that the earth was undergoing a similar event as depicted in the end of Melancholia. Basically the Earth's atmosphere was being sucked out into space by this little planetoid. So my visual was a combination of that plus the end scene where they are in the "magic cave" and the planet is shattering apart with light.
